We currently have two vacancies in the Selby store.

Senior Store Assistant – CFS Selby

Working closely with the Store Manager you will ensure that the service all of our customers receive is second to none, and play a leading role in the development of the use of social media and other online channels as a means of extending customer service at the Selby store.  You will have previous experience of working in a customer-facing service role, of using EPOS systems for maanging stock as well as sales, and have a demonstrable commitment to the goals of the charity.

This role involves Saturday working.

Store Assistant – CFS Selby

This role supports all aspects of the work of the Store and would be ideal for someone wanting to learn how a reuse store operates.  The job will involve customer facing retail work,  warehouse work and occasional work on the Store’s van.  For the full job description click Selby Store Assistant

Voluntary Opportunities

The Community Furniture Store in York is looking for volunteers to work in our warehouse.  The work involves a range of tasks processing donated goods to ensure they are ready for sale.  This includes steam cleaning, furniture assembly and repair, paint processing, and more.   The role involves moving heavy furniture within the warehouse – training in manual handling and health and safety at work will be provided.

The Store has adapted its working practices to ensure the health and safety of staff and customers during the COVID pandemic.  Staff and volunteers are provided with appropriate PPE and are expected to comply with appropriate social distancing requirements.

Hours are by arrangement with a minimum of 4 hours per week.  A regular commitment for a minimum of 6 weeks is required.

The Store is close to central York and free parking is available.
