Whatever you are donating if you are a UK taxpayer we can increase the value of your donation through Gift Aid at no extra cost to you. The extra revenue generated by Gift Aid when you donate furniture allows us to keep our prices low and carry on our work to support people in the local community. Simply let us know when you call us that you wish to be registered for gift aid, then apart from the annual statement, you shouldn’t hear another thing about it…apart from our thanks!
If you have furniture or household items you no longer want or need, rather than just throwing it away why not donate it so that someone else can make use of it. As long as it’s reusable your old furniture could be just the thing someone else needs. We can collect almost any reusable furniture that you would otherwise be getting rid of free of charge. You can also drop off donated items at any one of our stores, but we do appreciate a call or message to let us know you’re coming. To donate furniture, it must be in a clean and reusable condition – we can not accept items that are damp, water-damaged, very worn or particularly grimy. All upholstered furniture and children’s furniture must have a fire safety label in line with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988 or sooner. We do also take project pieces in Selby and Scarborough, so if you’re unsure do call the individual store and mention you have an item for the Workshop and we will happily discuss what you have.
Please be aware that our drivers will inspect the furniture on collection and reserve the right to refuse items that they do not assess as being reusable.
