Jobs

The Community Furniture Stores are charities which help people create decent homes by selling affordable pre-owned and new household furniture, white goods and other items. We also provide training opportunities to assist people into work, and we protect the environment by reducing the quantity of household goods entering landfill.  We have stores at York, Selby and Scarborough.

We currently have 2 vacancies. One at York and one at Selby.  See below for details:

Team Leader (Senior Store Assistant) – York

SALARY £15,873 per annum

37.5 hours per week

The successful candidate will work with our Store Manager to run the day to day operations of our busy York Store. This will include managing the display and sale of an ever changing stock of donated items, plus supervising and leading a team of paid staff and volunteers. Experience in customer service and sales is preferable and a driving licence is essential. We are currently developing our Work Experience project to encourage and build the confidence of long-term unemployed people. This is an excellent opportunity, within a successful charitable organisation, which would suit someone with retail experience wanting to build their team working/leading skills or someone with experience of supporting and training others.

The post is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday (5 days per week). We would consider Job Share.
