The Community Furniture Store in York is currently recruiting for two new roles to drive forward our work in the city.
The Workshop and Volunteer Supervisor will lead our volunteering and training activities, including developing our furniture repair workshop. We offer work experience and training placements to people trying to increase their engagement in their community, including those looking for work and those with disabilities that make it hard for them to hold down paid employment. This is a new role and offers the right person the chance to help shape the way the Store develops this aspect of its work.
If you have a background working with volunteers and/or people with support needs, are a proven organiser who is able to teach practical skills, and are looking for a role that will improve the lives of people facing disadvantage in the city then we’d love to hear from you.
The Customer Service Supervisor will work closely with the Store Manager, staff and volunteers to strengthen all aspects of our customer service – in store, on our vans, by telephone, and online. This will include leading the introduction of new ways of working using portable technology, refining systems and processes, and ensuring that staff and volunteers have the training and support they need to be effective.
If you have retail experience at a supervisory level, are adept at using technology and are looking for a role where that will directly contribute to improving the lives of people in need in the city then we’d love to hear from you.
Both roles offer a competitive salary and the chance to make a real difference.
